May 16-20, 2018 First UMC Rockwall – Hurricane Harvey Recovery Trip
Corpus Christi/Rockport, Texas
Wednesday – Sunday
Travel Days: Wednesday, May 16; anticipated travel back home: Sunday, May 20; personal vehicles, fuel costs can be reimbursed
Work Days: Assigned project/projects: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Lodging: “Volunteer Village” at First UMC, Sinton Tx. (bunk beds w/good mattresses, showers, kitchen, community area)
Work Location: Rockport, Tx Area
Type of work anticipated: Rebuild Type Work — hanging sheet rock, tape and float, carpentry, special needs projects according to team member’s skills, if asked
Trip fee: $90 per person ($40 for lodging/facilities fee at the Sinton church, $50 for food, snacks, beverages = ten total meals; if the team does not take a cook, we will involve cooks at First UMC Rockwall to prepare in advance breakfast and supper dishes that will be frozen and transported to Sinton for popping in the oven; if so, the trip fee will be reduced accordingly)
1. Clothes – work, after-work informal/comfortable (suggestion list coming the first week of May)
2. Shoes – work boots or steel-toed for on the job, after-work casual, “tennis shoes,” sandals, etc.
3. Tools – personal hand tools, work gloves, battery powered drills and drivers (suggestion list coming first week of May)
4. Bedding/Linens: bedding/sleeping back, pillow, towel and wash cloth, etc.

Other information and updating will come your way as need arises prior to team departure for Sinton. Travel methods by private vehicles can happen by caravan, independent driving to Sinton, etc.; if you desire to ride with another team member or members, that can be arranged and welcomed.
Register TODAY: Return all forms to Clay by May 7
(if a returning Harvey participant) download the medical/liability form only; fill out and notarize form; return form to Clay by May 7
If a trip team member prefers to not register online, please contact Rev. Clay Womack ASAP
All team members must have a still-current background check through First UMC Rockwall; please notify Clay asap if you need the background check; it is also highly encouraged that all team members take the Ministry Safe online training; notify Clay for the online link; the training takes approximately 1.5 hours
