Creation Care

WELCOME to the FUMC Family Lent Observance 2021: Creator Responsibility Educate Action Truth Inspiration Observation Nurture   CARE This Family Lent at Home Kit is an encouragement for your family to worship the Lord during Lent by considering His Creation together over the next six weeks. “All creation is the Lord’s, and we are responsible for the ways in which we use and abuse it. Water, air, soil, minerals, energy resources, plants, animal life, and space are to be valued and conserved because they are God’s creation and not solely because they are useful to human beings. God has granted us stewardship of creation. We should meet these stewardship duties through acts of loving care and respect.”  (The United Methodist Church Book of Discipline / Social Principles / The Natural World) Read the entire United Methodist Statement on the Natural World here:...

Volunteer of the Month

Our February Volunteer of the Month is Holly Mapel!  My family and I joined FUMC Rockwall in 2014. I have 2 children, Molly (8) and Marshall (5) and I work for a Non-Profit Organization in Dallas. I am passionate about helping others and working with the children in the church brings me joy and fulfillment. I am looking forward to being back in the Church in 2021, and for now, am very excited to start seeing the smiling faces of our K-3rd graders again in February over zoom.

Family Advent Kit

Family Advent Kit Lighting the candles of Advent is a centuries-old tradition throughout the church. It’s a chance to reflect on significance of the season and look forward to celebrating Jesus. Here’s a simple way to create your own advent tradition. Over the next month, take time each Sunday and countdown to Christmas. Pause and remember the Christmas story. Celebrate how God sent Jesus to be our Savior.  We know that this holiday season can get really busy. Finding time to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with your kids can be tough. We hope this makes it easier for you! What’s inside the kit? • A laminated Advent Wreath with tea lights, instructions and devotional • “Happy Birthday, Jesus” party supplies: – cake- frosting with sprinkles- party plates, napkins- and horns! Pick on up while they last – only a few...
