Lent Missions | Waco, TX Methodist Children’s Home | Boys Ranch MILK JUG PROJECT – Our Goal is to raise funds for materials to build a Camp Pavilion on the 500-acre Boys Ranch. PICK UP A JUG TODAY BOYS RANCH • Established in 1977, the Boys Ranch serves up to 40 youth on the 500-acre campus located 10 miles Northeast of Waco. • 8 to 10 boys live in each of the 4 homes. Each home is supervised by a Home Life Manager with a master’s degree in social work or other human services field and staffed by live-in home parents. • Youth participate in a work and equestrian program that help them develop discipline, a strong work ethic and self-confidence. They also participate in various recreational activities at the Boys Ranch, on the Waco campus and in the community. Summer Volunteer Opportunity | July 12-15, 2021 Serve and provide Virtual Bookworm Buddies to elementary age children…they will be at Chapel Hill UMC in Dallas, while we can be anywhere and help with reading skills for children at risk… 10 AM -12 PM Volunteers must be over the age of 13; youth ages 13-15 can volunteer with an adult present on the Zoom Call Volunteers can sign up for just one day or all four days During the 2 hour reading window, there will be three 35-minute rotations with one-on-one reading between one volunteer and one student. Essentially, the two-hour session concludes with the volunteer having met with three students.
