A preschool serving children (age 2 years – 5 years) and their families
Hours: Monday-Friday 9 AM – 2:30 PM
(pre-care and post-care available from 8:15 AM-3:30 PM)
Our mission is to create a nurturing community where students create, imagine, and explore as they learn about God and their world.
Preschoolers love to pretend! Whether he is being a daddy to a new baby or an astronaut blasting into outer space, the imagination of a child enables him to go on amazing adventures. This type of play is fun for young children and supports important social and emotional development, too! During Imagine Time, children creatively play with a variety of toys as they build important social, communication, and problem-solving skills that are critical to future happiness.
Times of expression and creativity are essential to a child’s development. During Create Time, we offer children time to freely create and explore a variety of art mediums without judgment or criticism. Cows can be purple and a little girl can be bigger than a house! Creativity is commended and celebrated. It is the process of expression and creativity that brings joy to our students and teachers.
Young children are active learners with a natural curiosity to learn about the world around them. Explore Time provides an opportunity for students to investigate ideas through hands-on science activities. Through their play, they are learning the basics of physics, physical science and biology. They strengthen their newfound understanding by planning, questioning, and reflecting on learning experiences with their friends and teacher.
We also have music, fine motor play, move and groove, outdoor play, chapel, and special events every week at the Ark!
Our pre-kindergarten program is designed to optimize development and prepare students to be leaders in Rockwall kindergarten classes. We utilize the Handwriting without Tears Get Set for School curriculum to guide our writing, pre-reading, and math instruction. Through a variety of learning centers and community instructional opportunities, children are building a foundation for future success and they have fun!
